The Story

With corporate offices based in Hong Kong, Violino furniture is manufactured in Shenzhen, China, where the company also makes its own foam. Indeed, the company got its start as a foam supplier to multiple industries before launching its furniture division in 1991. These days the vertically integrated manufacturer continues to pour its own foam in Shenzhen, China, where the goods are produced, making it largely immune to the current foam shortage besetting domestic upholstery makers. While challenged by fabric and leather supply like everyone in the industry, Violino has been determined to control what it can throughout the pandemic. Where the supply chain is concerned, this has meant ordering deeper from its fabric and leather suppliers and, most recently, improving its employee retention rate to 99 percent during Chinese New Year by treating its people well in the areas of food, dorms and pay
