Key Differentiators

  • Without question the most recognized name in the furniture industry for home accent furniture, Powell has grown into a full-service provider—designing, importing and distributing on-trend furnishings across all style categories with quality goods at affordable prices.
  • The merger with sister company Linon (a leader in the RTA and casual lifestyle sector) ten years ago means that retailers can today create a custom program of merchandise via either the direct import business or select from more than 3,000 Skus from the in-stock program.
  • With more than one million square feet of warehouse space between two distribution centers in California and North Carolina, the company offers full eCommerce and logistics capabilities, while retaining the family owned and operated values that long characterized both sister companies.

The Story

With more than 50 years of experience importing from around the globe (China, Vietnam, Malaysia, Brazil, Italy, Greece, Turkey, Croatia and India), Powell has long been focused on serving brick-and-mortar dealers with on-trend, value-driven goods. When the company was purchased by Linon ten years ago, Powell also brought to the table its deep experience as a pioneer in the drop-ship business, while Linon was well-known as a big-box and eComm specialist. Together, the combined firepower of the sister companies is turning out to be a boon for brick-and-mortar retailers seeking to build their omnichannel businesses. Indeed, along with its EDI prowess, the company maintains its own photography studio in High Point and is continually building and maintaining a complete library to support its dealers with accurate content and inventory reports.
